agreements with different dates of execution and period

dear all,

in our company we make agreements for the period of april to march but due to some reasons the exeuction of agreements get delayed and hence we make agreements for the period of 01/04/2009 to 31/03/2010 but execute them in July, or september or even december like execution date is 04/12/2009. pls tell can we bind other party for the period of 01/04/2009 to 31/03/2010 when the agreement itself is signed in december. what r the consequenses of executing agreements at this delayed time.

Agreements executed in December  can stipulate the agreed  terms with effect from First  April  !  It is the Agreement  from which date the terms are agreed to be enforced , not the date on which the Agreemtn is executed !

Good advice by Mr. Rao.

Further in line with comment of Mr. Rao - date of execution of agreement should not go beyond the end term date of the Agreement.

More essentially, Agreement has to be executed during life of performance of the obligations & duties of the parties under the Agreement.
