Rule 47 provides that an advocate shall not personally engage in any business; but he may be a sleeping partner in a firm doing business provided that in the opinion of the appropriate State Bar Council, the nature of the business is not inconsistent with the dignity of the profession.

Yes, a practicing advocate can start a taxation consultancy and related services as a proprietor, partner, or director in a private limited company, provided they comply with Bar Council rules and maintain ethical standards. This approach allows advocates to diversify their professional offerings, enhance earning potential, and leverage technology for online advisory, tax compliance, and consultancy work. They must ensure proper registrations such as GST, company or partnership registration, and keep legal services separate from consultancy work. By offering structured and specialized guidance, advocates can attract a broader client base, much like how industries that rely on Construction Estimating Services Florida, Backus Estimating, Home Freight Estimation Services, and Concrete Estimation Services provide clients with precise, reliable, and efficient professional solutions.
