adverse possession is possession against the right of owne, who should be in possession.

any person is in possession of private land for more then 12 yrs. he can claim for adverse possession but for that he has to satisfy 1)he is in possession with the knowledge of owner and he didn't claims in thaTt period.

2)he should be in continuous possession of twelve and more yrs. on private land and 30 yrs. in govt. land if you can prove that in the court of law you can be owner of that land.
