Adoption of a child of brother

Experts
Kindly let me know you the exact situation:

My wife and myself wants to adopt the son of my brother legally. I am NRI. the son of my brother is staying in india. Now kindly let me know the procedure to adopt the child. Is it necessary for both of us (me and my wife) to be present in the photograph clicked at registeration office. As i want to go alone to india. Is it valid the adoption deed signed by myself only or should i have any authority letter signed by my wife also alongwith me.

IT IS ADVISED TO REGISTER THE ADOPTION DEED AND THE ADOPTION DEED SHOULD BE SIGNED BY BOTH PARTIES ( ORIGINAL PARENTS AND ADOPTING PARENTS).  AND GENERALLY, THAT ADOPTION WILL BE MADE AT HOME UNDER HINDU CUSTOMS AND AFTER THAT THE ADOPTION BE REGISTERED BY BOTH PARENTS.
