Social Media post which is offensive to some people due to being it's obscene by nature. So someone complained police and police reached user's adress to get his statement

Yes, Police can. And, Police do anything with a purpose and when there is a complaint and therefore, we need to cooperate instead of litigating the matter.

Finding address is different from providing call history.  One can find address of a mobile number through apps like True caller.  The court is in no way involved in the issue, and Police can also get records of call history, SMS, and get the speech recorded as they have such legal authority and it can not be misused as they have a well laid down procedure to approach service providers through their higher authorities after establishing reasons.
