As per your concern at this point of time it's better to get connected with any witness of the incident if possible, and in case you're aware of the registration number of the vehicle you may approach a local police station and lodge a counter complaint for compensation and negligent driving against the car driver describing the entire incident that happened.

Lack of witness or awareness about the vehicle or its owner can lead to failed results of the complaint that you may register. It's always better to call the police immediately when such an accident takes place.
