Is it necessary to fill up the columns of religion and caste in certificates? Is it a problem if not filled?

In India the caste system is abolished but you have to fill the column of religion and caste. In many certificates it is mandatory to fill religion, category and caste.

If you don't want to mention your religion or caste there is 'other' option provided.

If your are availing any free ship or scholarship from government then it is Compulsory to mention your religion, caste and category.

I hope you find this helpful.

Regards!

Hi There! As you might know that sensitive information such as religion & caste is rather dependent on the certificate itself. If the certificate is to be presented for merit then it is not required but its important if its something related to your education or interview of any sort.

hope that helps.

Generally, there are 3 categories i.e. other categories (OC) and SC/ST. If you have not filled in the Religion and Caste column, then it will be treated as OC(other category).
