hello sir
i have bunglow in housing society i am first registered member with joint my wife name.so can u please give me rights of second joint member.can she working as a chairman,secretary or committe member? and how can she attend agms,voting or any other society decision?

according to the indian co operative society act, joint owners shall be treated as one and there rights are mutually exclusive. but, different states have there own housing society acts. however, mostly the general principals are followed.

The first named person is recognized as the Principal Member, for becoming a Management Committee Member. However, the second name/joint member can attend the AGBM and vote. When it refers to voting, either of the member can cast the vote on behalf of both and both cannot exercise voting separately.
