If a government officer is refusing to vacate a rented house, you can take the following steps: 1. _Send a formal notice_: Send a written notice to the officer, stating the rent agreement terms and the date by which they should vacate the premises. 2. _Follow up with reminders_: Send reminders to the officer, quoting the notice and reiterating the request to vacate. 3. _Seek assistance from superiors_: If the officer is not responding, reach out to their superiors or the department head for assistance. 4. _File an eviction suit_: If the officer still refuses to vacate, file an eviction suit in the appropriate court, citing the rent agreement and non-compliance. 5. _Seek police assistance_: If the court orders eviction and the officer still doesn't vacate, seek police assistance to enforce the court order. 6. _Document everything_: Keep a record of all communications, notices, and court proceedings. 7. _Seek legal advice_: Consult a lawyer specializing in eviction cases to guide you through the process. Remember to approach the situation diplomatically and avoid confrontations.
