Section 125 of CrPC deals with the order for maintenance. Following are the steps involved:- 

1. Submit Application explaining the facts and other relevant details pertaining to the case. 
2. The court then issues notice to the Husband.
3. Parties are then requested to appear before the court in a particular date and effort is made to reconcile the couple.
4. The matter is settled if the reconciliation process is successful. If not, the petition is heard on merits.
5. The Court then directs the respondent for a written statement. Then issues are then framed and the matter is posted for evidence.
6. Both petitioners and respondents are asked to provide evidence pertaining to the matter.
7. After hearing both sides, the court finally passes the order/judgement.
