"made in india" on a product signifies what?

Dear All,

I have a Query relating to writing "Made in India" on a product. If my product is assembled in India but raw matereials are imported, Can we write 'Made in India' on the product. Which act governes such a situation? Kindly clarify.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the rules around labelling products as 'Made in India'. It explains that you can use this designation if over 60% of the product's parts are manufactured in India. However, if all components are imported and only assembled in India, the 'Made in India' label is not permissible. The query also touches upon the governing legislation for such situations.

You can write made in india if more than 60% of the parts are manufactured in india but if all parts are manufactured abroad and assembled in india then u cannot write made in india on it.
