Should section 66A of IT Act be repealed?

The section covers tow different acts – Sending offensive or menacing messages sent by using electronic communication means. Sending false messages to cheat, mislead or deceive people or to cause annoyance to them. so it is right, it can be a law but the implementation and execution should be carefully.

legal provision should not be scrapped rather its implementation should be made very strict. Many anti-Indian forces may take benefit of scrapping the strict laws in India as has been seen in the matter of POTA etc.

Repeal of the provision is no solution. It requires suitable amendments.

In this information technology era, we cannot ignore completely such law made for the protection of other individual's right, though should be decided on merit of the case. Also, there should be a provision to issue show cause notices to the accused before other administrative actions,to stop the abuse of such law.
