I strongly agree with one of our member posted that "when croes of rupees taken away by theg politician without any tax what a poor lawyers can be charged may not afford to by latest law books".......Let Government should understand about Lawyers difficult s, why they are passing unwanted bills.

Advocates are always in rendering professional service and never a charity service. Hence they always qualify under the ambit of Service Tax.

No Because as far as our indian tax laws are not upto the mark becasue if u say that u have to pay service tax on the gross receipt u charge to client than what about the income tax that we are paying on our net profit in short as a CA student & very much interested in law could like to say no service tax should be applicable. Becasue as per my point of view it is double taxation. Pratik Sigining Off.

I appreciate Makkad Sir's view. We certainly do not conduct proper accounting. I fill it necessary for fair practice also it will enhance reliability in clients minds.

Advocates are in noble profession and they are regarded as most contributor for the Nation so this community should also be brought under Service Tax so that it may contribute some more and proper accounting may start.

Advocacy is full time service, some times it is social work.
