Sir, May I where & how did you came across this statement. childern born to couple(parents) are never treated as Assets or Liabilities. They are the members of family not a machinery generating income/revenue and loss/expenditure to treat them as assets or liabilities. kindly correct me if required...

Though a son or a daughter cannot be termed as assets or liablities but performance of obligations by parents in the education, bringing up and marriage etc. is certainly a liability of the parents. This his has held time and again while deciding petitions for maintenance etc.

The solemnization of marriage of children cannot be said to be not a liability for parents.

She gets right in parent's property so she is equally liable.but after marriege only her personal property shoud be counted for liability which she gets from her parents as security, gift or istri dhan.

have any one thought of parent who had only daughter to support them, if mens are asset to family female too have equal equation. PLEASE ASSETS & LIABILITIES ARE DECIDED BY NATURE(in our case it Characters) NOT BY GENDER.

Law is never gender biased. I sincerely believe that there are better POLL clips that are kept pending for moderation or even rejected for publication in this section.

Nobody should treat their children either son or daughter as assets and liabilities. At least treat our daughter as human being. Why anybody should moot the idea to leave this topic for poll?

cant believe 19 percent think its a liability and not duty!! Tomorrow, kids will list their parents as liabilities.... because of the money they have to spend taking care of them...

Our society treats daughter as Laxmi to the house, how come she will be the liability?

The property is inherited to both sons and daughter. Then it is also correct to show daughter as liability in declaration of assets

Certainly they are not liability rather an asset. The main concern of parents are security, since they used to be vulnerable.
