Tax evasion petition time frame scope

Dear Experts,

I am planning to file Tax Evasion Petition (TEP) against my FIL and MIL.

I got married on 6-6-2006 and my wife separated from jan 2008.She filed 498a on 28-Jan-2010. at Present, the case in trail; my wife stated she given 12 lakhs casn and 120 grams of gold and other expenses at the time of marriage.

some points here:

1) my FIL dont have PAN Card

2) FIL running small shop hardly 500 to 700 income daily

3) Never filed tax returns

My question here can i file TEP against my MIL and FIL its already 8years time frame( marriage on june 2006)?

Income tax department will consider 8years before matter for invistigation?

Please clarify.

Hi

I am also looking for this information. Please suggest.

I suggest you to try dowry case on the merits. Both giving and taking dowry is offensive.
