Hi - We had given 2 crores of rupees as donation to Hindu temple and now the temple trustees came to know that i had put 2 crores in donation box and they called me and they are now providing money back as cheque.
Is this legal to accept money in form of cheque from them?

Don't accept the cheque, firstly because you have donated the amount hence cannot take it back, secondly don't be a reason if they are trying to convert black money by this cheque to white, you will be questionable.
