I am going to graduate from the University of Mumbai with a B.Com degree in accounting and finance (BAF) in July 2014. I plan for apply for LLB as soon as my results come out but I would like to know if an LLB is a prerequisite for solicitor clerkship in India (Bombay). Once I graduate from the Uni of Mumbai with a B.Com degree am I able to apply to firms for the 3-year solicitor clerkship or must I have completed LLB studies before I can do so? What are the minimum academic requirements for solicitor clerkship and to become a solicitor, in Mumbai, India? Any help would be much appreciated.
