Power of attorney

I wanted to execute a power of attorney for sale of my property (flat at Thane and Chennai) in favour of my brother or close relative. I would like to get the PoA registered (not notarised).

Procedure for Power of Attorney in India

Draft the Power of attorney whether special or general, by a documentation lawyer or through a website
Submit the power of attorney with the Sub-Registrar.
Attach the supporting documents with the power of attorney.
Attest the power of attorney before the Registrar.
Attest of the power of attorney by 2 witnesses.

The documents required for registering a PoA:

Passport size photo of parties.
Address proof of parties.
Identification proof like Driving License, Voter ID card, Aadhaar Card, etc.
Tax Receipt or Index II or Electricity Bill of the Property (in case PoA is related to the property).
