I have notarized affidavit and had published ads in 2 newspaper. But I have lost the newspapers but still have the original notarized affidavit with me . What should I do using this old affidavit give a new name change ad in newspaper or make a completely new affidavit altogether.

You have to change the name in state gazatte.

It depends upon what purpose you wish to go for
1) usually if you wish to make changes in the passport you need to place a change of name ad in 2 newspapers that should be sufficient.
2) However if your adhar details are incorrect than you'll have to make a gazette.
Gazette is a strong proof and a valid document to be accepted all across India for all issues pertaining to name change. however there is a catch. name change ads can be published in one day whereas Name change in gazette takes 10 to 15 days. For more details pls try name change ads
