Immigration law

Greetings,

A few queries,

1. can an individual obtain extension of a tourist visa in india, especially in times of covid?

2. what should an individual do, if they bypass the dates mentioned on their exit permit, and stay back in the host nation?

respected sir,

ans1) All the foreign people residing in India whose visas will be expired it is expiring during the period from 01.2.2020 will have their visas extended for a period of 30 days from the date of lifting of prohibitions without any cost after the person has made an online application.

ans2) The individual can apply for visa extension and each country has some different set of rules and criteria for the same. however in India visas are no longer granted for overseas travelers. The exception is those foreign nationals who are already in India and whose visas remain valid. These Indian visas can be extended or their status can be changed through contacting the nearest FRRO (Foreigner Regional Registration Office) in India or by applying it online. The extension will last until 30 days after India lifts its current restrictions on international travel.

hope you find this helpful

regards
