Children are brought up without the knowledge of the relevance of s*x. Even the mention of anything referring to s*x is considered a taboo. They grow up with the impression that s*x is something dirty and is associated with bad people. They even suppress their own s*xual feelings thinking they are bad thoughts. This is more so with girls than with boys. There are cases of unmarried midwives, who did not know the relation between s*x and reproduction. With such ignorance when girls get married they hate and spurn the advances of their legally wedded husbands. Girls should be told about the relevance of s*x in marriage and reproduction at least just before marriage by the elder womenfolk in the girl's family.
Probably this may be the case with the wife of Sreenath too. He should tell his mother about this problem and ask her to talk to his mother-in-law and other elder women-in-law to educate his wife at least at this stage.
