Employer called and and asked to repay the salary

Dear All,

I had work on contractual basis for 22 days in a firm. However I resigned from it as I got new permanent job in some other firm. I already got salary of 14 days from this contract job.

When I sent resignation mail to them they did not respond me back. They did not say anything to me to serve the notice period or to reimburse the payment. There is nothing mentioned in the offer letter about the pay back of salary from employee and notice period.

But now (at the month end) after staying qute for 20 days they started calling me and asked me to deposit the amount which I got for 14 days. That also they are not asking in mail or any written format.

I said i already worked extra days, also I asked them to give everything in written.

In this case what is the solution, please suggest me.

Thanks,

Learning

You have posted that:

In the absence of any terms and conditions on Notice period/pay, why should you pay?

You may rather demand wages for the days you have worked after 14 days.
