In Maharashtra court fee stamps up to Rs.1.50 lakhs have to be paid for filing a Criminal Complaint under Sec.138 of the N I Act. Does the state legislation in Kerala prescribe similar stamp duty for filing a Criminal case for bounced cheques there?
Is the stamp duty burden different in different states? This also could determine the place where one would file the complaint. I will be grateful for your views.

yes it is deferent indeferent States. in assam we Just pay Rs. 2 as Court fee in a case U/S-138 N.I.Act. I do not know the provisions of other States.
