KURNOOL: In a shocking incident, a court clerk flung a slipper at the Fourth Additional District Judge Shanmugham in the court here on Thursday. Soon after the incident, the judge, who is in-charge of the family court, adjourned the proceedings and retired to report the matter to District Judge Ashok Kumar.
Radha Rani, who was accused of insulting the chair, alleged that the judicial officer had provoked her with his remarks. The judge reportedly took exception and admonished the clerk (typist) for leaving the footwear close to the chair. Hurt by the remarks, she took a slipper and flung it at him.
After reviewing the matter, the judiciary lodged a complaint with the Two Town police .
Radha Rani alleged that the judge had been harassing all four women employees attached to the family court. Thursday’s incident was the last straw. She said she had written to the High Court a few months ago asking for a transfer.
