Constructon in private terrace

Sir,

Intend to buy a flat with private terrace. Builder confirms that I can construct on the terrace.  The construction can be only temporary.  Any idea what could be considered as temporary?

The following temporary buildings do not require a permit or approval from the BCA:

  1. any worker's quarters, site office, store, builder's shed or other sheds required in connection with any building works relating to permanent buildings;
  2. any show-flat or show-house;
  3. any stall or shed of light weight material within any premises used for the purpose of holding a trade fair, fun fair or any exhibition.
