I was born in village in jind district (haryana).The birth certificate issued in my name bears wrong DOB and name,which is different from the DOB in all my documents. I want to get it modified as soon as possible for my passport.
So,can anyone please guide me in this regard? Can I change date of birth on birth certificate or should I try to change it on other documents( marksheets) ?

Dear Sharma,
File a civil suit for declaration of ur correct date of birth and also seek the court to direct the concerned officer to rectify the error in the concerned records.

I just want to know one more thing, how much time will this procedure take? Because I have to apply for passport as soon as possible.

As fas as date of birth is concerned, 10th certificte is taken into consideration. File an application with Registrar alongwith your matriculation certificate preferable supported by an affidavit. If it is not working out then approach the court.
