Service certificate in email

Dear Sir,

My current company is saying that they will not issue experience certificate in written format because company address has changed. But they can confirm my tenure in the company via email. Is it acceptable to other company as per law?

This is no logic.

Obtain it from official email id of the competent employee of the company later write to good offices of appointing authority, MD to supply it on letterhead of the company under original seal and signature of competent employee by redg. post only and may mention that postage prepaid self addressed envelope is attached for sending the redg. Post to you.

You may even request to supply certified copy of service card.

The service certificate is to be issued to all employees.

Model Standing Orders:

        16.  Certificate on termination of service.--Every permanent  workman shall be entitled to a service certificate at the time of his dismissal, discharge or retirement from service.

NOTE. - There is a provision under  this  Act for issuing a service certificate at the time of  dismissal, discharge or retirement and every person is entitled to take such certificate.

As per the Information Technology Act, an electronic communication is valid. If the service certificate is issued by the company through its official email id and if it is digitally signed, it would add credence. Even otherwise, the receiving company can always write back to the issuing company to verify the credentials.
