Age discrimiination while seeking job

My age is 36 yrs and am a BPO professional, I have been layed off by my previous employer as the contract got over. Now I am searching for jobs in other organisations but the recruiters are turning me down saying that they do not hire people who have completed their graduation prior to 2005. Is this age discrimation and is it legal?

you do not have right to force entry into the service unless it is Govt sector job.
