registration of an association

Respected experts,
Suppose a person is going to registered an association.Which authority will be registering the same.Whether registration of an association is similar to registration of society.
Which Act will be take into account/cosideration. whether its the society registration Act 1860?

An association would be registered with the Registrar of Societies. Society Registration Act is the relevant act. Normally one of the deputy registrar of co-operative societies of respective state would act as Registration Authority for associations.

In various States, Registrar Co-operative Societies are different than Registrar under Society Registration act and in your case the association shall be registered similar to society.
