I am working as an officer since 5 yrs in a nationalised bank. Since, Apr 2016 , I was on Loss of pay, I write request letter to my branch manager every 89 days to sanction the leave period on loss of pay, but he replies that he has no power and advise to contact Zonal Head.I didnt getting salary for this leave period. Meanwhile, I applied for Sr.Manager post in Grameena BAnks and got a cal for interview with NOC. I didnt intimate my employer that i am going to write this exam. Can my employer deny NOC to attend interview .Shall i need to mention the future employer details while writing request for noc. I doubt our Zonal head may interfere and use her links to spoil my future.Kindly,advise.

You should have taken prior permission before applying. Try to get post-facto permission if possible.

When you are applying for loss of pay leave , employer is not supposed to release the pay.

Moreover, you have not mentioned the reasons of leave and stated by you in leave application. Without proper sanction of leave, it may be treated unauthorized absence and Bank may start disciplinary proceedings against you.

You are absent from last 8-9 months without proper sanction of leave. For an officer, this is very strange act and Bank has not initiated against you is also equally strange.

You have not stated why you remained absent for such a long period.

It would be in your interest to join the duties, submit acceptable medical certificate of leave.

Thank you Goyal Sir for your kind attention,

I stated that i want to go on loss of pay for my personal reasons. I didnt mention that i need to take care of myaged parents , as i am the only son.I thoughtof giving reply,if they insist.
I have no interest in joining the present bank and i am confident of getting the Grameena Bank Scale-3 position as Sr. Manager.
Our management is reluctant to give NOC, orally telling that my leave is unauthorised and I didnt intimate them about applying for new job.
Kindly.advise.
