Leave without pay from government services

Is it possible to take leave without pay from my current employer with the permission of job? I am in govt service and want to go on leave without pay for one or two years.. During that LWP period I have to do some job for my expenditures.. Is it possible to do so? Is there any provision for that in service rules.. Please advise..

LWP: Look into your service rules. Sanction is required from authority.

Parallel Employment: Is misconduct and can fetch you separation by speaking order.
