what is maintenance charges for open terrace

I have open terrace attached with my 1 RK , which I have purchased by paying 30 % amount to builder on year 2003. My carpet area is 244 sqft & terrace area is 132 sqft. Society is charging maintenence changes on 376sqft(ie244+132).pls advice me what should be the maintenance charges open terrace. (Society considering open terrace as carpets areas.)

When the open terrace is rightfully purchased by you and accordingly being used, you will be liable to payment of maint. charge for the same . As regards rate of payment of charges, the relevant rule of the society is to be referred to.

Rate of maintenance charges differ from society to society depending on various aspects.

It depends upon the basic rules and regulations decided by the society at the time of registration of the said society or on the basis of the related resolutions if any.
