Hi, i have a question. Is it mandatory to get property transferee to wifes name after husbands death? How soon this needs to be done? Are there any issues if property is in name of husband even after his death?

If the Property Of the Deceased is Not Transferred to the Legal Heirs at the earliest In the Long Run there could be Some Unwanted Issues Or Claims. The Transfer Procedures Normally Takes 3 to 6 months and in case of any Emergency It can not be done immediately.First Obtain the Legal Heir Certificate and Go ahead with the Procedures.Consult a Local Good senior Advocate. If you do not mind how you are connected to this Issue and in what way Please..

If the property has not been transferred, claims may be made by irrelevant persons on the property. Better if the property is transferred to the legal heirs immediately.

Agreed.Earlier the better.
First the property may be transferred in the name of Legal Heirs in mutation records..................(Viraasat Ka Intkaal).
Thus all legal heirs can attain rights equal to that of owner.
Thereafter any legal heir can do whatever it wants to with the share.....................keep/relinquish etc...........
