One of the minority educational institutions in Mumbai have asked me to submit an Affidavit saying that I am from that minority class for my admission with that institution.

My queries are:

1. Affidavits for such reasons are on how much denomination stamp paper?
2. Can I obtain the stamp paper and also get it notarized from some other city other than Mumbai and then submit it to the institution at Mumbai?

Grateful, if you could help me resolve the above said queries.

1)Varies from State to State-usually Rs.10/-.
2)Yes. Provided the Notary has All India licence & U can justify as to what prevented U from doing it in Mumbai.

Stamp differs from state to state. you can get it executed from some other city of the state. It can get attested by any Ist class magistrate in the state.

1) In Mumbai u can Rs 100 stamp paper on your name
2) execute it
3) Notarize from gov.regd notary irrespective of state u belong should serve your purpose
