Sir but the parents are not by birth muslims but the son is by birth muslim.

Reservation benefit can be availed by Hindus only. Islam does not recognise the caste. Here Hindu means a person who is Hindu, sikh, Jain and Budh by birth and hindu is not a person who is muslim, christian, jews and parsi. Your statement is contradictory, once you said upper caste, then OBC. Upper caste, here i presume the caste not falling in the category of SC/ST/OBC. as per my opinion, your friends son is not eligible for reservation, however he can be eligible for certain privileges given to the minority communities.

The reservation is given to a person if his caste is backward by birth. In karnataka muslim people treated as obc and 4 percent reservation given to muslim community in education and jobs.
My question is at the time of birth of the boy the mother and father belongs to muslim. So the son is treated as muslim only.
But the mother and father is by birth hindu unreserved caste they converted to islam after marriege to islam. Why not their son is not eligible for reservation.

If U were really a law student U should have stated it in UR profile.Being a student U cannot demand replies from the legal experts posting the same problem in different threads.

Now dear law student, for whom have U posted the query. Is it real or for gaining academic knowledge.

The legal experts here are seasoned advocates with professional experience of more than 25 to 30 years.Hence U cannot take them for a ride and demand reply for UR academics.

no reliion is listed as OBC.

as far as SC is concerned there is blanket ban to issue SC certificate to any person who is neither Hindu, Sikh or Buddhist.

for SBC some community are listed as eligible despite being Muslim.
