How can i find that my lawyer has tried to enter my appeal

Dear Sir,
One of my friend lost a criminal case in district court and also in high court. Now he approched a lawyer in delhi to enter his appeal in supreme court. The lawyer took an amount in advance for the case. My friend gave all case papers to the lawyer. Now the lawyer says that the appeal was not taken by supreme court. Now the question is how my friend can know that his lawyers did his work honestly or not? Did the lawyer try to enter the appeal?

Your lawyer must have to attend the case when it was listed for argument for entertaining. If he himself has failed in his duty, how can he now abuse and apply parameters at this stage.

There is no barometer in the world to judge honesty. Maximum your friend can find only whether the aforesaid case was listed on that date and whether his counsel appeared in that case and the order of the court but nothing more can be known. Yes, he can take the certified copy of the appeal documents which may also establish that all points were inserted therein or not.
