Mutations in original sale agreement

(Querist) 17 March 2015 This query is : Resolved
After my husband passed away I have been successful in getting the consent letters from his family members for getting my name on the property records , e.g in the society records and share certificates.
My question is --what about the original sales agreement which has my husbands name on it? Is there any way in which I can get the mutation done either by approaching the registrar with all the documents? Or by way of attachment to the original agreement ? Just as in case of a will where we can attach a codicil !

Just get Legal Heir certificate from Tahsildar.
You need not to go to sub registrar office for any mutation.

All the persons found as legal heirs are the joint owners of the property.

You can do mutation in property tax, water tax and patta and not in registered deeds.

It is only a sale agreement in your husband's name and not a registered sale deed, so first get a sale deed executed and registered on your name by observing the procedures for that and then think of mutating the revenue records in your name.

If the document in the name of your husband is sale agreement you can get the sale deed executed in your name provided all parties agree to it.

If it is sale deed, get registered family settlement / relinquishment deed in your favor.
