Women right for taking marriage decision

Dear Experts,
I am 26 yr old working girl. i want to get married to a person i know. i talked to my parents regarding this also but they denied without giving me a reason.we both r commited to each other. my parents emotionally forcing me to get married to the person they want.Is there anything legally i can do to get married to that person whom i want to. is there any thing in law regarding the forced marriage.I know it is the worst thing to do something legal against your parents.But i cant marry to someone i don't know.

You can take your own decision to get marry. There no provision in law. It is common law.

When you have attained majority of 18 years, you are permitted to take your own decisions, as per your wish and will.No body have right to made force you to get marry. But on the other hand, you should have also to see, what is good and what is bad and which of your acts become damaging your family reputation in the society.

Legally you can marry to a person of your choice.

Take help of relatives to arrive at amicable solution.

If you have attained the age of marriage legally, you may go ahead with your proposal nobody can stop you from going ahead.

Dear Baala Sir,

Jst because of reputation of my family m nt able to take decision....need some legal advice...We both just don't want to hamper the reputation of my family. The boy's family have no issue with ths marriage...
