Will by nri for overseas property

(Querist) 10 February 2013 This query is : Resolved
I have a peculiar query from a NRI friend, who ons property in Singapore. He wants to write a Will for the properties he has, both in India and Singapore, however he seeks to know if a Will made by him that is registered and executed in India would also be valid for his properties in Singapore.

Do Singapore revenue authorities accept Indian Wills to transfer immovable property in the name of the beneficiary under the Will?

Thanks for any advice/ suggestion.

Will would be recognised in Singapore as well and property would go as ordained by dying man in the will, however subject to probate/stamp other requirements of Singaporean Law.

It shall be duly recognized even in Singapore.
