Harrassment for credit card payment

hello sir i have a credit card from hdfc bank and the limit was 75000 and i was making min payment on time however due to unavoidable circumstances i lost my job and not able to make payment since last 2 months and the recovery people are calling me and harrassing me and abusing me however if i do not receive the call they call my parents and start abusing them and tell we are sending police and goons to your house please help me sir i need help now they are telling the os is 96000 which is very high amount please help me and guide me how to settle this debt

where are you from ? as per rule of law the bank management can claim their dues but as per human dignity, if they are harassing and abusing than you may make the police complaint or send the notice to the bank immediately.

have you given any blank cheques? if not they will file summary suit aginst you to recovery OS . since you are jobless and dont have money at most they will file case against youu

You must be receiving threatening calls from the outsourced recovery agents, not from employees of the bank. You can directly call the bank and ask for easy installments to pay. If they are not agreeable, they can only file a summary suit against you for recovery. They can use peaceful pursuasive and legal means for recovery, but cannot make threatening calls or send police or goons to your house, as coercion or threats are forbidden in such cases.
However, if anyone calls you again, note his particulars (including the name and phone number of calling person) and if you are not satisfied with the balance due shown against you, just ask them to supply you detailed statement.
If some recovery agents come to your door and threaten you, ask them to show their photo identity cards. Note the particulars of their identity cards and call police control room by ringing 100 and inform about their threats or forcible actions.

There are certain procedures, which cannot be explained in a few words. So, it will be better if you contact some local lawyer to adopt appropriate proceses as per the clues provided by experts here. But please don't ask unlawful means to avoid payment of your debt.

While I have given sufficient clues, you are also expected to do some self service. Open the website of of RBI, you will find good number of circulars issued by RBI to banks on recovery process of outstanding amount of credit cards, etc., by banks themselves or through recovery agents. Please remember time is quite precious for everyone.
