Inspection of court case files

(Querist) 05 August 2012 This query is : Resolved
I have read in other posts on this site that a party is allowed to inspect the case file in the court. This right is provided in the Code of Civil Procedure.

It seems that the Order XI - Discovery and Inspection, should contain the clause where a party can inspect the court case files, but I am not able to find out the exact clause which mentions the right of either party to inspect the court case file. The clause 18 specifies the inspection of documents submitted by other party but not the court files.

Can anybody point out the clause that mentions this ?

Thanks!

The court files are inspected not under Order XI rather under an application addressed to district judge under civil general rules.

Thanks Ashutosh for your quick reply.

As you mentioned, I was able to find the relevant section "CHAPTER IX INSPECTION AND SEARCH OF RECORDS" in Civil general Rules.

File Application u/s 151 of CPC for inspection of court case file in the concerned court and get it allowed by judge of court and then u can inspect court case file of ur case only.
