Cyber crime

(Querist) 21 February 2012 This query is : Resolved
One of my friend's fake Facebook profile has been created with her photographs on it although she tried to report abuse that on Facebook but nothing happened then she went for cyber cell and she called up there to an asst. sub inspector, he after listening to her query said that he isn't in office that day and next day when he will be moving to his office then can only help out & demanded for the URL address. She next day texted him the desired address & called him but he for the whole day kept on giving excuses & didn't helped her. My query is if one cant seek help from such places in cyber cell where one can access?

UP Police does not seem to have yet established cyber crime cell anywhere. So, it is better to send your complaint either to DG Police or the IG of the area concerned, who in turn would route your complaint to the concerned unit of the police.

For more information, you may better check the following website of UP Police:

You have to approach the crime deparment deputy commissior of police with all related evidence. Evey state have cyber cell headed by a DC and Ac. Sure they will help to solve the solution

You are rightly guided by Dhingra Sir.

If the sub-inspector is not answering your call, then it is advisable to contact his superior officer.
It is always better to visit the office of sich officials and give a written complaint and take an acknowledgment instead of calling on phone.

Police Inspectors says, they can't operate PC, do not know anything about internet,
very few Police staff are trained for cyber crime.

Contact dcp c written complain

Are Nominee Directors right example for Section 299(5), Companies Act, 1956 ?
Guest (Expert) 27 February 2012
Dear Shati,

In what way you want to link section 299 of the companies Act with the cyber crime of the question, while the section pertains to disclosure of interest by director if the director is interested in any contract or arrangement, or proposed contract or arrangement of the company?

If the present post is different than the previous question, you should have posted that as a separate & independent question.
Shati Mehrotra (Querist) 27 February 2012
Pardon on my part it was a mistake reluctantly typed the query in the same header.
Guest (Expert) 27 February 2012
Never mind Shati, that can happen due to oversight. I have put my query only to get clarification as to how your present query has any consern with your original question.

1. Approach Facebook itself for immediate deletion of that account.

2. Simultaneously move other forums for redressal.

The propblem with facebook is that they are least helpful when it comes delete someone's fake profile from their site..

This way Google is the best... They delete it in about 10-15 min as soon as one can satisfy them....

Facebook is least helpful... A complaint in cyber cell seems the only way to remove content off facebook...
