Temples registeration mandatory?

Helo Experts

1)Any relevant rule/order that Temples
should be registered under any law in
Andhra Pradesh.

2)Do the temples need building permission in the Villages/Mandals irrespective of registeration

The commissionerate of endowments of andhrapradesh is the authority in A.P. state.

No such rule is known at present.

Normally the building permission is required to build a temple according to sastra and to be approved by local body.

if private temple is going above some limit of income the endowment commissioner will take over the temple into government custody

If a temple is collecting donations from the devotees, by having Hundi, that temple has to register with the Government.

Building approval to be obtained from the local body (Municipality, Corporation etc).
