no reply received EFFECTS UNDER RTI ACT 2005

MORE THAN 2 MONTHS HAVE PASSED STILL NO REPLY/INFORMATION ON THE PART OF RAILWAY MINISTRY WITH IN TIME.I WANT TO ASK WHAT IS THE MINIMUM TIME TO GET REPLY UNDER RTI IN CASE OF INFORMATION IS SOUGHT FROM RAILWAY.WHAT ACTION AND REMEDY I HAVE ON NON REPLY

irrespective of the dept,you are entitled to get the reply with in 35 days time.

Since the time is already over, make a first appeal to the first appellate authority.

Normally the Appellate authority will sit in the same office. So, send your appeal to the same address.

you may address to the "First Appellate Authority under rti act 2005,( add remaining part of the original address to which you forwarded the rti application).

at the end of the first appeal,please add the following:For your kind information, I add that in addition to RTI Act 2005, I can proceed against public authority and its officers under The Consumer Protection Act 1986 as decided by National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, New Delhi on 28-05-2009, in REVISION PETITION NO. 1975 OF 2005 in complaint filed by Dr. S. P. Thirumala Rao against Municipal Commissioner, Mysore City Municipal Corporation, Mysore.
