community certificate

hi,
i am jerald, i am having a community certificate which is issued on 1996 stating the caste is vellalar. now that is caste is not found in tamilnadu gazette. what should i do for finding my caste.and also can i be able to get a new community certificate with the same caste. plese clarify. my father is also having the certificate as vellalar only. waiting for ypur replies soon...

Is your caste included in the schedule? If not, U will not find it. However, as the central govt. is mulling a caste-based cencus, U may find your caste recorded somewhere. Also check if your caste is treated as a specie of any caste genre.

I agree with Mr. Chanchal, you will have to find out whether your caste has been attached with some other caste (I have simplified the language used by Mr. Chanchal for your purpose).
