is it possible to file appeal in Supreme court against HC order by the applicant it self if he is not a lawyer? what is the process to do so?

Yes. There is no bar. The party himself can file it. He can consult the registry and get details regarding the procedure for the same. He can personally appear in court and argue his case as well.

It is better to take help of the advocate to follow the procedcure.

Supreme court is not the ordinary court of jurisdiction here the pleadings / petitions are filed by the Advocate- on- Record only. Therefore u can't by pass the procedure however u can argue the matter in person. I am not agree with the opinion as given which is totally not fair.
