Children playing cricket on streets of dda society

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 23 April 2021 This query is : Resolved
Children of some residents play cricket on the streets of DDA society. There are cars parked in the street which are hit by the ball and the ball at times breaks a mirror or two. If not a broken mirror, their balls comes in the verandah and they ring bell at odd hours which is a little more annoying since most of the people are sleeping at the hour while others on meetings (WFH)
The kids have been a complete nuisance and their parents are not taking any responsibility or teachimg their kids to do the right thing.
Please advise.

Complaint to society and provide a place to children for playing

We have multiple lush green gardens but they refuse to go their. Some time they say it’s too hot there, right now it’s lockdown so they say due to curfew they cannot go and play without masks and in the winters it’s too cold.

Hello,

Yes, you have to complain to society. And during the lockdown, you can complain to the police. I will also suggest discussing the issue with children's parents and inform them about nuisance.

Take a stand in concurrence with the society. Aside please think of engaging security guards.

To me, everywhere children play games. It is common in all streets. If you have children below 12 years, can you send them outside to play? So call for a meeting and please provide a place for children for their games by giving caution not to disturb others while playing. Still, if you want to complain, you can complain to society.

Well there are different sports to play on streets. Moreover, being in an old DDA society, there are multiple grounds within the society which are more than just approachable. I myself when I was 12 used to play in the same parks. My brother who has a 6 years old daughter, encourage her to go to parks so that she becomes better at the games she plays (no limits) without harming others’ peace. I believe parents play an important role in considering these things as essential to a good upbringing. Also, since I have been in these kids’ shoes, I have recommended them multiple times to go in these parks with all the logical reasoning but I think that at times it is not what nowadays kids respond to.
But everyone thank you for response. It has been more than just helpful.

You are residing in DDA flats or in a Cooperative Society ?
Did you approach RWA / MC to persuade/ suggest cricket players to find out some nearby alternate playing place ?
Police has no role.
