My friend lives in coimbatore, tamilnadu. He has taken a house on Lease for 3 years and paid 5 lacs.

The landlord sold the house to someone with out any intimation and not paid back the advance and he is not traceable.

Now the new land lord says he knows nothing about the lease and asking him to vacate the house without paying any amount.

What is the legal right my friend has to recover the amount

Your friend has to approach a lawyer dealing with the subject, in his locality. Show the lease papers. Discuss things with the lawyer and then file a case for restraining the new owner/old owner etc., from interferring in his tenancy during the period of lease.
