Refund of income tax

One of my friend not received his refund..the problem site showing cheque is return dpt cz of wrong address ..how to get back ?

Go to the office of your Assessing Officer (whether it is ward or circle etc.) and they will guide you.

Is they take money for giving cheque ? How much.

They will not take any money to give the cheque. In fact, they did not ask you anything while sending the cheque initially. It is only because you could not be found at the address given by you, the cheque went back. Therefore you have to go to the office, indicate your current address - they may seek proof of your current address, your identify, pan card etc., for authentication purposes.

You may intimate the IT office about your change of address and get the cheque to your new address. There is no need to pay any money or bribe for this.

Rather u can contact on the toll free number given in the web site www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in, i.e. ask viz:aayakar seva kendra. They vl resolve ur friend's problem.
