Dear Sir,
Whether a Govt. employee can become a non-working partner in a partnership firm?
or it is an offence.

Do you mean shareholder or director?

There is no bar of becoming a shareholder as long as he does not have any responsibilities.

Refer your service rules in the matter. In partnership the liability may be unlimited. Better get administrative clearance from your department first.

I agree with Ld. Goel, some services restrict all kind of associations.
